TWO businesswomen who have been friends for more than 40 years have opened a new beauty clinic offering treatments favoured by celebrities.

Mother-of-two Amanda Dean and mother-of-four Tracey Lalley run Blissful Bodies, situated above Melissa Berry estate agents, Bury New Road, Prestwich.

The pair have been friends since their time at St Mary's Primary School in Prestwich, Rectory Lane, and opened the clinic in November.

Former accountant Mrs Dean also recently took over running The Place chippy, Clifton Street, Prestwich.

The 48-year-old, who also worked in the motor trade for 27 years, said: "I went into Blissful Bodies business after meeting the woman who owns the franchise. I was intrigued by the new treatments she had to offer and how we can help so many people on their weight loss journey."

Specialists in non-invasive inch loss and anti-ageing treatments, their aim is to help clients look and feel their best.

The clinic's signature treatments include Lipo Blast and Lipo Freeze, a treatment designed to tackle stubborn areas such as muffin tops, love handles, back fat, bingo wings and inner/outer thighs.

Fans of ITVBe’s reality show, The Real Housewives of Cheshire, recently saw the ladies trying it out at a beauty salon in Hale.

It involves one session, with no recovery time, and clinical studies have shown Lipo Freeze is effective on between 20% and 40% of the fat cells in the treatment area.

In the weeks following the treatment, the destroyed cells are processed through your lymphatic system – the network of tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins, waste and other unwanted materials.

It claims results can be seen in as little as two weeks, although it may take up to 4 months to see the full effects.

Mrs Lalley, who also runs Verite Unisex Salon, Beech Street, Radcliffe, said: "We've had some good feedback.

"We've had a few men that have had it done, it's unisex.

"We are here to make a difference and that's what these treatments are all about, whether it's new or old.

"In all business, what you are trying to do is the best for your client."

Lipo Freeze review

‘I’m just off to have my fat frozen’, I said to my other half – a statement which was met with a very puzzled look.

Not the usual way I spend on hour of a Thursday evening but I was off to try Lipo Freeze, intrigued by the claims it can ‘melt’, well freeze, fat cells away.

A bit of research revealed the treatment and similar ones were developed after researchers noticed children who constantly sucked on ice lollies developed pockets of fat loss in their cheeks, and wondered why.

It turned out that fat cells are particularly vulnerable to cold so temperatures that didn’t damage skin or muscle could still freeze fat cells literally to death.

I must admit, I was a little nervous but Tracey and Amanda put me at ease with their friendly nature at the Prestwich clinic.

I lay on the bed and had three, what can only be described as suckers, attached to my tummy.

It took at bit of adjustment to get them attached and, although a strange sensation at first, it did not hurt as the specialised applicator delivered cooling to the fat cells via a process called cryolipolysis.

I was soon relaxed as Tracey carried out a Reiki treatment — a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation.

The applicators remain attached for 40 minutes and it passed by quickly before I was on my way with instructions to body brush and drink two litres of water daily and take regular exercise as well as baths with Epsom salt to boost the treatment.

The water and exercise aspects have been easy enough to incorporate but I had never body brushed or bathed in salt water before. It’s a little more difficult to find the time to do these but I can feel the benefits when I do.

So what about results from the treatment? I’m three weeks in and my tummy does feel flatter. And this is despite several bouts of meals and drinks out to celebrate my hen do and birthday.

Fingers crossed for even better results in the coming weeks and months.

Lipo Freeze costs £195 for two areas and £150 for every two more areas.
