A CAR dealership on the up says it is proud to be backing this year’s Bolton & Bury Business Awards.

Bristol Street Motors is one of this year’s sponsors, supporting the We’re Backing Bolton/Bury category at the awards which will be held at the Macron Stadium on September 8.

It comes during a busy time for the Ford dealership, based in Higher Bridge Street, as it readies itself for a £3 million development over the next 18 months.

Darren Murray, general manager of the dealership, said: “We are extremely proud to be supporting the Bolton & Bury Business Awards again this year.

“Over the next 18 months, we will be investing £3 million in the refurbishment of the Bristol Street Motors Ford Store on Higher Bridge Street, which we hope will regenerate the area and create local jobs. We are planning to invest a further £12 million in 2018 in building a Landrover Jaguar dealership on the site.”

The dealership was recently listed as the top-rated dealership in the town by independent review website JudgeService, which collects customer feedback across all areas of businesses, including the sales, aftersales and bodyshop departments.

The We’re Backing Bolton/Bury category sings the praises of Bolton and Bury and is open to all businesses, with one award for Bolton companies and another one for Bury firms. The award recognises the businesses which, through their success, have not only secured publicity and profit for themselves but have helped to raise the profile of the Bolton and Bury boroughs.

The winners can be a firm from any sector and can be of any size. The judges will look for businesses or organisations which understand the importance of their local area and which, through their endeavours, are helping lead the boroughs out of the recession.

There are eleven categories to enter from Business of the Year to Apprentice/Young Person Award and from Start Up Business to Family Business.

Through its redevelopment plans, Bristol Street Motors says it hopes to create new jobs for Bolton people and regenerate the local area.

Time is running out to enter this year’s business awards, with the deadline falling on July 29.
