MORE than 12,000 homes could be built in the borough if new proposals get the green light, as part of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework (GMSF) plan.

70 projects have been suggested so far during the 'call for sites' exercise and here are some of the others that developers have put forward:

Whitefield

- HOW Planning said 164 homes could be built on land at Park Lane Farm to the north of Philips Park Road and the west of Parkstone Road.

"The majority of the site is located within the greenbelt," the company said in the document.

- The owner of land south east of Mode Hill Lane, who has not been named, said 400 homes could be built there, alongside leisure facilities.

- An unnamed agent acting for the Cornell Group said an unstated number of homes could be built south of Mode Hill Lane.

- Representatives of Stand Golf Club said an unstated number of homes could be built on vacant farmland off Ringley Road.

Almost 2,400 homes proposed for land in Prestwich — and four projects tabled for Whitefield

Prestwich

- Nolan Redshaw said an unstated number of homes could be built near Simister Island. "This is a large area at a strategic motorway junction. The land is underused and is of little landscape value," said the firm.

Radcliffe

- Carter Jonas said 98 homes could be built on greenbelt land between North Junction and Olsberg Close over a four-year period.

- Planning Potential said an unstated number of homes could be built in greenbelt land in Stopes Road.

- JLL said 525 homes could be built west of Bury road and south of Dumers Lane. It is a former landfill site.

"The site comprises brownfield land and undeveloped land, in a sustainable urban location," said JLL.

It added: "The development will raise the environmental quality of the area and provide significant regeneration benefits, including the Protection and enhancement of Swan Lodge, Hutchinson's Goit and Bealey's Goit."

- The Strategic Land Group said 150 homes could be built at the Bealey Industrial Estate in Hallam Street.

"The estate is likely at the end of its economic life and is likely to fall into disuse unless it can be developed," the company said. "Development could commence within 12 months of (planning permission being granted)," it added.

- Bilfinger GVA said 480 homes could be built at and near the Warth Business Centre within the next five years.

"There is potential for retaining a proportion of employment uses on the site," said the firm.

Ramsbottom

- PWA Planning said homes could be built on greenbelt land near Heatherside Road but has not said how many.

- Turley Associates said 105 homes could be built near St Andrew's Close.

- It has also suggested building 70 homes near Ripon Hall Avenue.

The land is leased by Brandlesholme Warriors. Junior Football Club. "The proposals include the relocation of the playing fields," said Turley Associates.

- The company also said an unstated number of homes could be built south of Tanners Street and east of Dundee Lane.

Bury and other areas

- Carter Jonas said 217 homes could be greenbelt land at Old Farm, east of Knowsley Road, Ainsworth.

- The firm suggested building 123 homes on greenbelt land to the west of Lowercroft Road, Starling.

- It also said 250 homes could be built on greenbelt land west of Starling Road, Cockey Moor, over a ten-year period.

- Turley Associates said 200 homes could be built off Brandleshome Road, Greenmount.

- Nexus Planning said 120 homes could be built near Shepherd Street and Holcombe Road, Greenmount.

- Barton Wilmore said 450 homes could be built north of Lindow Close, Brandlesholme.
