TRANSPORT bosses have urged travellers to plan ahead for changes to services this weekend.
Network Rail and Metrolink improvement works mean there will be changes affecting the Bury, Rochdale, East Didsbury and Manchester Airport lines as well as some city centre services.
There will be replacement busses running during the times on these services, including between Manchester Piccadilly and Bury after 11.30pm on Saturday and from Bury to Piccadilly after 11.45pm.
Buses will also run for train services between the same stations until 8am on Sunday.
John Fryer, transport and event planning lead at Transport for Greater Manchester, said: "Essential improvement work on the guided busway and Mosley Street tram track, together with Network Rail’s works, will mean significant changes to Vantage and some Metrolink services this weekend.
"To help minimise disruption and ensure a smoother journey our advice is to plan ahead, be prepared, and think about all your travel choices. Customers should allow extra time to complete their journey."
