SIBLINGS enjoyed the ride of a lifetime as they were carted through Bury in Santa’s sleigh.

Ethan Jacques, aged four, and his sister Gracie, aged eight, were dashing through the town on a sledge pulled by reindeer.

Hundreds of shoppers gathered to follow Santa’s parade as the two reindeer pulled the sleigh from Union Street to The Rock and on to Central Street before returning.

Visitors also paid visits to the reindeer in their pen in Union Street after the procession.

Ethan and Gracie won the opportunity to be at the centre of the parade after winning a Facebook competition run by Mill Gate shopping centre.

Manager Marie Gribben said: “It was wonderful to see so many families out to see Santa and his reindeer.”

Children can meet Santa in his grotto at Mill Gate every day until Christmas Eve. Tickets, priced £4.50, can be bought at the grotto or online at millgateshopping.co.uk.
