A NEW food and drink festival, Manchester Eats, is set to take place at Heaton Park next summer. Manchester Eats will transform the park into a food lovers’ paradise on July 7 and 8.

The event will bring together some of the city’s most popular restaurants and bars, as well as top international street food stalls, for a giant celebration of great food and drink.

Manchester Eats also includes an entertaining programme of demonstrations and masterclasses with appearances from high profile celebrity chefs.

Visitors will have the opportunity to sample and buy tasty treats from a range of themed areas including a huge producers’ market, a gin garden, a craft beer zone and a healthy living area. The event also features a dedicated children’s village and acoustic live sets from local bands.

Denise Harris, Event Director at Manchester Eats, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing Manchester Eats to Heaton Park. There will be a real mix of delicious food and drink on offer and visitors will also have the opportunity to see some of the most popular celebrity chefs in the country.

“It’s set to be a fantastic weekend of foodie fun in a stunning location and I’m sure it will be a big hit with food lovers from across the region.”

Executive Member for Schools, Culture and Leisure at Manchester City Council, Councillor Luthfur Rahman, said: "We look forward to hosting this special summer event, which will offer some of the best food and drink to be found in Manchester, all within the glorious surroundings of one of our greatest green gems."
