POLICE are searching for a missing man who was convicted for the manslaughter of his wife nine years ago.
Michael Smales, aged 54, has been missing from his home in Sedgley Park since Monday.
He was last seen wearing camouflage jacket, jeans and trainers. Police believe he could be heading to Scotland.
Officers are concerned for Mr Smales’ physical and mental health, as he is subject to an indefinite hospital order after he was convicted of the manslaughter of his wife in 2009.
He has been managed by mental health services in the community.
Anyone who sees Mr Smalesis asked not to approach him but to call police as soon as possible.
Mr Smales has been described as a missing person and is wanted for arrest or questioning by police.
Anyone with any information about his whereabouts are asked to contact police on 0161 856 8174, alternatively call 101 quoting the missing person reference number MP/18/0115395 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
