A SUCCESSFUL "Onesie Wednesday" event held in Radcliffe has raised more than £2,100 to help fund holidays and days out for children with disabilities and terminal illnesses.

The Ainsworth Arms in Bury and Bolton Road hosted the event in conjunction with Heywood-based charity Trewan Sands Children's Trust.

Many of those who supported the fun day dressed up in "onesies" to mirror the theme of the fundraiser. Other attractions included a bouncy castle, slide, clowns, raffles and tombola.

Louise Dawson, from the Trewan Sands Children's Trust, said: "It was an absolutely fantastic event and we raised £2,170. Of that, £520 of that was raised by Massab Khan who did a 40-mile run from a Bolton gym, into Manchester and then back to Bolton.

"We had the same 'Onesie Wednesday' event last year at the Ainsworth Arms and they offered to run it again this year.

Around 200 people attended.
