A MOTHER has secured her dream job while studying at Bury College, proving it is never too late to learn.

Tina Harnett, aged 35, of Radcliffe, has marking Adult Learners’ Week by securing a job after choosing to pursue her desired career in accounting.

Tina is currently completing a full time AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting at Bury College where she is developing skills in preparing accounts, indirect tax and costs and revenues.

She took up the course after taking voluntary redundancy from the Royal Bank of Scotland following her 12 years of banking experience.

In November 2014, she applied for a two week work experience placement at Warents Feingold & Co.

Tina impressed the accountancy firm and was offered 10 hours a week working at the Prestwich-based business while studying 15 hours a week at Bury College.

“I am thoroughly enjoying my time at Bury College, the tutors are fantastic and apply a very personable approach to their teaching,” said Tina.

“I am very grateful to the Bury College work experience placement officer for giving me the encouragement to take on a placement and Warents Feingold & Co who have really helped me settle into my new role.

“The balance I have between home, work and college is great.”
