CHILDREN and staff at a Radcliffe school brought colour to the classroom and raised £300 for a good cause.

Pupils and teachers at Cams Lane Primary took part in the "Be Seen in Green" day in support of the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.

Each person paid a donation to be able to dress up in green for the day.

The fundraising campaign supports children with cancer. Ward 84 is the children's cancer ward at the hospital and home to the North West regional centre for children and young people diagnosed with cancer.

The hospital charity's "Be Seen in Green" day was aimed at raising the final £20,000 needed for the enhancement of the ward.

Mrs Marie Graves, headteacher at the Cams Lane school, said: "It was wonderful to see everyone making such an effort and I am so pleased that we have been able to support such a worthy charity. It is especially poignant for us a school as we have children past and present who have been treated at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital."
