IF two heads are better than one, then three is even greater.
When 12-year-old Radcliffe girl Sarah Barlow decided to grow her hair long so she could eventually have it cut and donate to the Little Princess Trust, she inspired her mum Shirley to follow her daughter's goal.
And in a remarkable co-incidence, stylist Karen Smith - who cut 16 inches of Sarah's "crowning glory" - had done the same just weeks before.
Now, the shorn hair from the kind-hearted trio has gone to the Little Princess Trust which provides real-hair wigs free to boys and girls who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.
Thanks to her gesture, St Monica's High School pupil Sarah also raised more than £350 for the trust after being sponsored for the hair cut at Bradley's salon in Water Street, Radcliffe, which also donated the cost of the hair cut to the trust.
Shirley, of Astbury Street, explained: "When Sarah was about nine, she said wanted to grow her hair long and then have it cut so she could donate it. So, she inspired me to do to the same."
