A FUNDRAISER inspired to help the homeless has vowed to continue her charitable activities after collecting more than £750 from a family fun day last month.
Amy Yates organised the event at the Wilton Arms pub, in Coronation Road, on July 25 in aid of Manchester-based homeless charity Barnabus, after buying a meal for a homeless man earlier this year and hearing his story of being forced onto the streets.
Between 150 and 200 people attended the fun day, which included raffles, mini golf and a funfair.
Amy, aged 24, said: "It was a really good day and I was happy to see so many people out enjoying themselves in aid of a good cause.
"Homelessness is an issue that I have become passionate about and we are planning to keep holding events like this and have a few ideas for what we can do next."
