TWO girls were taken to hospital after suffering ‘severe’ wounds in a dog attack last night.

Police were called to the incident in Knowles Street, Radcliffe, at 5.25pm on Sunday, after the girls, aged 12 and 13, were bitten.

Both were taken to hospital with injuries to their legs and what police described as ‘serious’ bleeding. They have both received stitches in their legs.

The tan coloured dog is thought to be of a mixed breed, but no further description has been issued.

The Radcliffe Times reported last week how 10-year-old Luke Chadwick had been traumatised by a dog attack on the King George V field, off Outwood Road, which left him with three deep wounds on his right arm.
