HISTORY lovers were given a glimpse into Radcliffe's early history, as Radcliffe Manor was opened to the public as part of a national heritage celebration.
Visitors were able to enjoy volunteer-led tours of the medieval structure during the National Heritage Open Days event on September 12, showcasing repair work that has been carried out on the tower itself.
The site will soon be part of a heritage trail to be launched later this year, which will cover the history of the tower and the house and hall that once stood alongside, as well as the tithebarn and the Bealey family.
St Mary's Church, in Church Green, also got involved in the nostalgic festivities with an exhibition displaying photographs, wedding dresses, and baptism outfits from throughout the church's history.
