TWO boys were taken home by police after they sneaked out in their pyjamas in the early hours of today for a bite to eat at a McDonald’s restaurant.

Police were called to the 24-hour fast food restaurant in Radcliffe at 2am and found the two pals, aged 10 and 11, who were in their onesies .

The friends had been enjoying a sleepover at the time and snuck out not realising how late it was. The mum of one of the boys was fast asleep and had no idea the boys had gone out.

A concerned member of the public who spotted the two in Blackburn Street asked them where they were going and phoned the police, who found the two at the restaurant and took them back home to the parent.

A police spokesman said:” The boys were in their onesies and the parent was asleep and didn’t know they had gone out.

“The boys didn’t know the time.”

The two were about ten minutes away from home.

No further action will be taken.

Tweeting about the incident on the GMP Radcliffe account, officers said:”Two children who were friends in their onesies taken home from McDonald's.

“They had left the house when adults were asleep.”

A post on the Spotted Radcliffe Facebook page read: “It's 1-13 in the morning and I'm seeing two young boys they say there 11 and 12 walking to McDonald's so I ask them are they ok.”
