PEOPLE wishing to volunteer or donate items to help flood victims in Radcliffe have been asked to go through a new donations centre.

Bury Council and teams of volunteers have set up a base at Radcliffe Boys and Girls Club, in Withins Avenue, to collect and distribute all donations.

Councillors and members of the community will be on hand from 9am to 6pm every day.

They are particularly asking for the following items to be donated: personal hygiene products, cleaning equipment and materials, towels and bedding, dehumidifiers, and sharp knives.

Cllr Jamie Walker said: "All organisations that have been collecting donations or offering to volunteer help will now come through us so it can all be coordinated.

"If you need any kind of help or advice then you should come here. Myself, other councillors, and volunteers will be here throughout the day.

"We have had a huge amount of clothes and toys that people have very kindly donated, so there is now a real need for some more things, especially cleaning products that everyone will be desperate for."
