A DRIVER who fell ill at the wheel had to be rescued from her car after she crashed it into a post.
The woman, who drove a small, blue coloured car, hit a security camera post in Water Street, Radcliffe, and was unable to free herself.
North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) was called out to the scene, near the Royal Oak pub, at about 11.50am on Thursday, followed by crews from Whitefield Fire.
The woman, who was in the car alone, was treated at the roadside and was not taken to hospital.
A spokesman for NWAS said: “We received reports of a woman who had been taken ill at the wheel of her car. She was treated at the road and was not taken to hospital.”
Whitefield crew manager Eddie Dorrington said: “We had a call about a one-vehicle crash in Radcliffe. When we attended the scene a female driver was trapped in her vehicle and was already being looked after by ambulance staff.”
