A GANG armed with a baseball bat left a man with a broken jaw after an attack in broad daylight.
Police reported the group of four or five men got out of a car in Wolsey Street, Radcliffe, at around 10.30am this morning and began beating the victim, aged 25, with a bat.
The man, who it is thought know the attackers, suffered a broken jaw as well as cuts and swelling to his head. He is still in hospital recovering.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident but police are still hunting the others involved, who are all described as men in their 20s.
A GMP Bury South spokesman confirmed: "A group of four or five lads got out of a car and started hitting the victim with a baseball bat.
Wolsey Street. Male assaulted with a baseball bat by a group of males. One offender arrested. The victim was taken to hospital.

"We were called at 10.30am and the man was taken to North Manchester General Hospital.
"He has suffered a broken jaw, swelling to his ear and the side of his face, and a cut of about an inch to his head."
