A RADCLIFFE takeaway is in the running to be crowned the best in the country.

Grilled Hotspot is one of 10 takeaways on the North West shortlist for the British Takeaway Awards 2016.

The family-run Outwood Road shop, which serves burgers, kebabs, pizza, and chicken, is competing against incredible Indians and perfect pizzerias from across the region to make it into the national finals.

Grilled Hotspot, which has been open for two years, has a perfect six star rating from over 4,300 reviews on Just East and customers are now being urged to show their support by voting in the awards.

Humad Mustafa, the takeaway’s owner, said: “This competition is for the best of the best and if we can get enough people to vote for us now then we will make it into the national final.

“In terms of getting good feedback from our customers, we have been doing brilliantly.

“Even if we just get a fraction of the people who have written reviews for us on Just Eat to go and vote, that will probably still be a big number.

“To have such a lot of support since we opened has been fantastic.

“As soon as they told me that we were nominated in these awards, I have been very confident that we would go on and win.”
