A MAN has been found dead this afternoon.
Police confirmed that the body of a man was discovered in Pilkington Way in Radcliffe town centre. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
The fire service confirmed that the body was discovered underneath the bridge that goes over the River Irwell and that an investigation is ongoing.
A GMP spokesman said: "Police were called at around 12.35pm on Friday 6 January 2017 to reports that the body of a man had been found on Pilkington Way, Bury.
"Officers are working to determine the cause of the man’s death but it is not believed there are any suspicious circumstances at this time."
