A RADCLIFFE care home has been given a clean bill of health after its most recent visit by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Inspectors visited Hollybank Care Home, in Bolton Road, over two days in November last year and gave a good rating in all aspects.

A previous report in September 2015 stated that improvements needed to be made with regulations relating to

risk management, the management of medicines, and not reviewing all the notifications required.

The home had also not had a registered manager for some time which had caused some problems.

Hollybank Care Home is registered to provide nursing and residential care for up to 49 older people with 21 people using the service at the most recent inspection.

In the most recent report CQC inspectors found that improvements had been made in a number of aspects and that the day-to-day running of the service was now more organised and procedures were now in place to ensure that people received the appropriate support.

The report said: “It was noted that the service also had a home manager who took responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home with the support of the group manager.

“People who spoke with us told us that they felt safe at the service and that care staff knew what action to take if they were concerned about a person who used the service being at risk of harm or the practices of a colleague.

“Recruitment and selection procedures were in place to help protect vulnerable people from people who may be unsuitable to work with them and people and staff thought there were enough staff on duty to meet their needs.”

Group manager Sandra Seymour, said: “The management and all our staff continue to offer a high standard of care.”“We are extremely happy to have maintained our ‘Good’ CQC rating and with the forthcoming opening of our newly refurbished and extended section of Hollybank Care Home, we are looking forward to welcoming many more residents in the future.”
