AN INJURED tawny owl that was rescued from a stretch of canal in Radcliffe is alive and well and awaiting to be released back into the wild.
The owl, which had lost a lot of weight and was found to have an ear infection, was spotted falling from a tree by a group of volunteers who were out cleaning the waterway last weekend.
Volunteers at Greenmount Wild Bird Hospital, who have been caring for the owl since, say that she is recovering well from her injuries and will be released soon.
