POLICE are warning residents to be extra cautious after a noticeable increase in burglaries recently in Radcliffe.
In the past week alone, numerous similar cases have been reported in the area, mainly through insecurities in people’s homes and cars, police say.
Over the weekend, offenders broke into a shop in Dumers Lane where a charity box and cash were stolen and there was an attempted burglary on Sunday night where offenders tried to break into an owners home in Baybutt Street.
Radcliffe East sergeant Mark Livesey, said: “I urge people to secure rear doors and windows even when in the house to prevent offenders sneaking in and stealing whatever small items they can when residents are in other rooms,
“If anyone has information about anyone they think or know is committing crime to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or they can call the Radcliffe neighbourhood team via the 101 telephone number or email burysouth@gmp.police.uk. This also includes people or premises who may buy the stolen goods.”
