A RADCLIFFE care home has received praise from inspectors and residents after being rated as ‘good’ in all areas.

Abbeycliffe Residential Care Home, in School Street, which cares for adults who need personal care including those living with dementia, was inspected by the Care Quality Commission.

In 2015 inspectors rated it as requiring improvement for safety.

But in the latest inspection, carried out last month, the home was found to have made improvements and has now been rated as ‘good’ in all areas.

Residents told inspectors that they felt safe, well and looked after.

They also praised members of staff, describing them as marvellous, lovely and very, very kind.

The CQC report states: “Staff spoke about those they supported with warmth, respect and admiration. Throughout this inspection we saw people and staff sharing jokes and life experiences. People told us, and we saw, that staff took an interest in them and treated them like they mattered.”

Abbeycliffe manager Fiona Jackson, said: “All the team at Abbeycliffe are proud to have once again achieved a good rating from the CQC.

"It shows that the determination and hard work of all our staff can ensure a happy and caring environment for our residents.

“Well done everyone.”
