A FORMER school was targeted in a suspected arson attack last night.
Firefighters were called to the site of the old Millwood Special School in Fletcher Fold Road after a blaze was started in the playground.
Watch Manager at Bury Fire Station Steve Urmston said: "The fire broke out in the play area involving a part of a slide.
"There was a minimal damager and we were only there for about half-an-hour. I will be contacting the council to secure the site at the back.
"From the front it looks secure but at the back it is open and is a potential fire hazard."
Millwood Special School moved from its Fletcher Fold site in Bury to a new £11 million School Street in Radcliffe in 2012.
