THOUSANDS of people are enjoying all the fun of Guy Fawkes night at Heaton Park where the Bonfire has just been lit.
A spectacular firework display is dazzling crowds.
While they enjoy the safety and fun of an organised display, crews in Bury are busy to responding calls in the area on what is their busiest night of the year as they try to keep people and property safe.
Their first call came in at 5pm when fire control were alerted about a large bonfire in Olsberg Road, Radcliffe. Another call about the fire came in just 20 minutes later after crews had attended with neighbours concerns about the fire being close to trees and houses.
At 5.01pm, residents in the Oxford Street, Alfred Street and James Street area of Bolton rang in about concerns that around seven children had started a fire near to houses.
Just before 6.30pm a call was received about a large bonfire in Bolton Street Radcliffe just centimetres from terraced houses.
Minutes later crews received a call about a bonfire in Walmsley Road, Bury, which was said to be close to stables and horses.
