A TEENAGE boy is receiving treatment in hospital after a reported stabbing in Radcliffe.

Police are investigating reports of a stabbing in Bridgefield Street after an 18-year-old boy was taken to hospital.

A police cordon has been put in place in Bridgefield Street near the junction with Spring Lane, the A6053.

Residents have reported there is a large police presence at the scene as well as one police car.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Shortly before 5.10pm today, police were called to reports that a man had been stabbed in Bridgefield Street.

"Officers attended and a cordon has been put in place in Bridgefield Street.

"An 18-year-old boy has been taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

"An investigation has been launched."

No arrest have been made.
