A CHARITY has donated more than 800 Easter eggs to families in need across Radcliffe, Bury and other boroughs of Greater Manchester.

The Frost Foundation, based in Radcliffe, handed out masses of chocolate goods as part of its wider mission to support disadvantaged children.

Youngsters at nurseries and primary schools - including Big Steps Childcare in Salford - received a selection of Easter eggs and hollow chocolate bunny rabbits to enjoy.

Wendy Veevers, founder of Frost Foundation, said: "Our Easter egg campaign enabled us to donate around 800 eggs and chocolate goodies to many families who are finding life a little difficult at the moment.

"Many of these families struggle to put food on the table for their children so treats such as Easter eggs are not a priority for them.

"But here at the Frost Foundation we believe children deserve that little treat and endeavour to help where we can."

The charity's campaign was predominantly focused on Radcliffe and Bury families who are made known to them via the council's social service teams.

Many of the Easter eggs had been donated by the charity's supporters as well as companies in the area, such as Toby Carvery, who donated 120 eggs.

As well as its latest efforts, the Frost Foundation donated presents to families in crisis over the Christmas period.
