TO commemorate fallen war heroes, Radcliffe Cricket Club is planning a remembrance day event.
But the club has appealed for help to organise the occasion, which is scheduled to take place on November 10.
Organiser Cath Booth wants to commemorate the five Radcliffe Cricket Club members who fell in the Second World War. Their names are written on a score box memorial on the club building — James Allen, Eric Hesketh, Harold Mills, Arthur Mills and James Quayle.
Ms Booth said: "I would love to find out if there are any relatives of the soldiers who would like to attend the event.
"We would also ask for anyone who is able to help, or donate prizes, to get in contact."
Before Remembrance Day, it is hoped the club will raise enough money to purchase five 'There but not there' silhouettes for a bench.
Current plans for the November 10 gathering include unveiling the silhouettes and laying a wreath.
Fundraising has already begun for the event, and an appeal has been released for donations of raffle prizes.
Any excess money, once the event costs have been covered, will be donated to Help for Heroes.
To donate a prize or purchase a raffle ticket at £1 each, contact Ms Booth at the club on 0161 723 2604.
