A FIRST-TIME mum from Radcliffe is hosting a 'toddler toddle' around a Radcliffe park in aid of children's charity Barnardo’s.
Around 14 toddlers are expected to take part in a nature-themed 0.7-mile walk around Close Park, with more welcome to take part.
Organiser Helen George, aged 36, is holding her own localised version of the Barnardo's Big Toddle in order to bring the community together.
The mum-of-one launched a Facebook group called Radcliffe Mums shortly after her 21-month-old son Edward George was born in order to promote community.
She said: "Even though I consider myself to be a strong, independent woman, I was a first-time mum and felt very alone.
"I thought there must be other women in Radcliffe that felt the same way so I created the Facebook group to try and help other Radcliffe mums.
"The aim is to develop friendships so we can meet up, share experiences, ask questions and offer advice, rather than feeling isolated.
"This event will hopefully continue that theme and help bring the community together."
Little ones are encouraged to wear nature-themed clothing at the event, such as wild bugs, mammals, birds.
Edward will be dressed as a chicken for the walk, which will be followed by a picnic.
Prizes for the best dressed and most money raised have been donated by businesses.
The toddle takes place on Saturday, June 23 at 11am.
The walk will still go ahead if the weather is bad but the picnic will instead be held at Radcliffe Borough Juniors Football Club, who have kindly offered their hut for shelter.
