FOUR teenagers have been presented with the highest award available to members of the Girl Guides.
Ruth Merrick (14), Alice Montgomery (15), Lucie Brady (14) and Katie Hodges (14) spent many months working towards the Baden-Powell Challenge Award.
Ruth is a member of the 12th Radcliffe (Ainsworth Parish Church) pack, while the other girls are part of 10th Radcliffe (Stand United Reformed Church).

The girls completed ten different challenges which involved a range of skills. They covered the movement's five zones - personal health, knowledge of the world, acceptance of different cultures, adventure and personal interest - and five more of their choice.
To complete the award, they went on the Baden-Powell adventure, a residential trip with other Girl Guides.
The four youngsters received their awards during a St George's Day service at St Thomas and St John's Church, in Radcliffe.
Anne Rule, division commissioner for Bury South, said: "These challenges make the girls think and they are a good grounding for their future. I am very proud of them all. It takes so much work to complete the award."
Volunteers are needed to lead Girl Guide meetings across the borough. Anyone interested in helping can contact Anne Rule on (0161) 763 3369.
