FOUR would-be pop stars from Bury are urging the public to help them earn the chance of a lifetime.
Radio station Key103 is searching for four youngsters to form a new girl band, and received hundreds of entries which have now been whittled down to 10.
Alana Chaisty, aged 16, from Unsworth, Emily Hall, aged 20, from Brandlesholme, Jessica Hurley, aged 20, from Tottington, and Tia-Rose Scott, aged 17, from Tottington, all made the shortlist.
Members of the final girl group will receive singing and dance lessons, record a single, and perform live in front of thousands of people at Manchester’s Phones 4U Arena.
Jessica, aged 20, works as an admin assistant for Bury Council. She said: “I was so happy when I found out I was in the final shortlist.”
The judging panel, which includes Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh, a former member of pop group Hear’Say, will choose one member of the band, with the public vote, which closes on Monday at 10am, deciding the other three.
The four girls will sing in Bury on Saturday close to Katsouris Delicatessen at Bury Market from 11am to 3pm.
