EMERGENCY crews were called to a car crash in Holcombe Brook after two vehicles collided on Tuesday.

Firefighters and paramedics attended the scene, at the junction of Longsight Road and Bolton Road West, near the Hare and Hounds pub, after two cars struck into each other at around 3.30pm.

The air ambulance was also sent to the scene.

Firefighters confirmed that the driver of a navy Peugeot car had to be cut free from her vehicle by removing the door.

The woman was able to walk away from the wreckage and was taken for assessment into the North West Air Ambulance, before being taken to Royal Bolton Hospital.

The driver of a red Citroen was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
