MUSIC fan Michael Prest is savouring a mouthwatering moment after winning a competition to create a special edition chocolate bar to celebrate Ramsbottom Festival's fifth birthday.

To encapsulate the flavour of the festival, he came up with Choc & Berry Choo Choo — milk chocolate with raspberry jelly, candied orange and shortbread pieces.

The competition was launched by Ramsbottom Festival and The Chocolate Cafe.

Now, 1,000 bars of the special edition chocolate will be on sale from the beginning of June, in the run-up to the festival, at various venues: The Chocolate Cafe and The Vineyard Wine Shop in Ramsbottom; The Met, The Clarence and the Tourist Information Centre in Bury; as well as online and at the festival.

There will also be a golden ticket in three of the special edition bars, winning their purchasers a pair of weekend VIP tickets for the festival.

Michael said: "I used the idea of a train-themed chocolate bar as the Ramsbottom Festival is really unique in that it’s probably the only festival where you can arrive by steam train. The colours of the ingredients also match the fantastic festival logo."

Ramsbottom Festival started in 2011 and has attracted headliners such as Sinead O’Connor, The Waterboys and Inspiral Carpets. The headliners for the this year's event, to take place between September 18 and 20, are Idlewild and The Proclaimers with one headliner still to be announced. Other acts at the festival include Moulettes, Tom Robinson Band and Mark Radcliffe’s Galleon Blast

There’s also a whole host of family arts and events on offer, from stone balancing to free running and 50s soul tap dancing to acrobatic theatre.

Tickets for the festival are available now from www.ramsbottomfestival.com/tickets.
