A RAMSBOTTOM beauty queen is preparing to attend the prestigious grand final of two national pageants next week.

Elise Staniland was crowned Miss Teen Bury earlier this year, winning a place in Miss Teen Great Britain and Miss Teen World Supermodel UK, both of which will be held in Blackpool next Tuesday.

The 16-year-old, of Ripon Hall Avenue, has already seen off competition from hundreds of teens across the country, with a series of spectacular prizes – including a trip to compete in The World Supermodel Pageant 2016 – on offer for the winners.

She said: “I am so excited to have made it to the final; it is a great achievement, as there were so many gorgeous semi-finalists.

“Making it to the grand final is a dream come true – fingers crossed I will be able to win the Miss Teen Great Britain crown and do Bury proud.

“Winning the title of Miss Teen Supermodel UK would be a step forward into my future career, which I am truly excited about.”

The winner of Miss Teen Great Britain will also walk away with £1000, glamorous dresses, and a photoshoot portfolio.

Elise is being sponsored by Prestwich travel agent Cruise Club UK for the event, and has been raising funds for her chosen charity Together for Short Lives, which supports children with with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions and their families.

The Woodhey High pupil last week held a cake sale at school, and has also organised a charity dance session with children from her former primary school, St Andrews.

She added: “Every child deserves a life which is full of excitement and joy no matter how long someone is in this world for.

“I am proud to raise funds and make a difference to the lives of these children and their families.”
