THIEVES targeted a blind man in Ramsbottom, prompting a police investigation.
Andy Joynson was entering his house in Bolton Street with his guide dog Toffee at 5.20pm February 9 and left his musical equipment, including two amplifiers that he uses to busk, unattended outside.
When the 47-year-old father of two returned outside, he found that the items had been stolen.
Bury Police said they have now recovered some of the property and have arrested two men on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods.
A Bury Police spokesman added: "Andy is a popular member of Ramsbottom community and is well known for his musical talents all over the North West.
"The investigation is still ongoing but we are pleased that Andy has some of his equipment and CDs back."
Wellwishers have raised £4,240 for Mr Joynson, who is well known as a busker in Manchester city centre.
"We have been told he will be donating some of the money raised by the public to a guide dogs charity and replacing some of his stolen equipment," the police spokesman added.
