ORGANISERS of Head for the Hills festival are looking for people to help as volunteers.

All roles are unpaid, but volunteers will receive two free festival one-day passes and an official T-shirt in return for a minimum of 12 hours work.

Food and an area to camp will also be provided free of charge.

Roles available include stewarding at the event, backstage assistance, working in the ticket office, wristband exchange, manning the merchandise stall and more.

The minimum age for volunteering is 16 and those below the age of 18 will be paired with other volunteers for the first few hours.

Mercury Prize nominated Maximo Park, The Stranglers and Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor are just some of the acts announced for the festival.

The music will played on three stages and there will be plenty of food, drink and other activities to keep festival-goers happy.

Organised by The Met in Bury, the festival will be held from Friday, September 15 to Sunday, September 17, at Ramsbottom Cricket Ground, Acre Bottom.

Founded in 2011 and previously called the Ramsbottom Festival, it is now in its seventh year and is proving as popular as ever.

Tickets are still available at various prices, visit: www.headforthehills.org.uk/tickets for more details.
