THE Tottington and District Horticultural Show has celebrated its 82nd year.

Despite showery weather, the Horticultural Show, held in Greenmount Old School, was a huge success with plenty of exhibits in most classes.

The rooms were filled with beautiful blooms, plants, fruit and vegetables, wine, eggs, baking and homemade handicrafts.

It was well attended by people who enjoyed homemade cake, a raffle and a tombola, as well as a display by the Friends of Turton Tower.

Trophies and medals were presented by the Mayor, Cllr Dorothy Gunther, with proceedings ending with an auction of the produce.

The Tottington and District Horticultural Society is one of few that has managed to stand the test of time. The Society gives thanks to exhibitors, judges and helpers, and a big thanks to everyone who supports them in anyway.
