A DRAMATIC hillside was the perfect backdrop for pupils to give their school production a plug.

Pupils at The Derby High School, in Radcliffe Road, are rehearsing for their forthcoming play 'Our House'.

The school dubbed their expedition up Holcombe Hill as 'Madness on the Mount' because their musical features songs from the group Madness and is named after the popular hit Our House.

To drum up interest, cast members invited members of the public to join them up Peel Tower to see the magnificent views of the surrounding area.

They served up sweets from their tuck shop and enthusiastically spoke with people about their production.

The play encompasses themes of love, growing up and learning from the consequences of choices.

Director of Arts at the school, Lynn Provoost, said: "As the sun shone, the spectacular views ensured a memorable experience was had by all."

The cast will perform Our House in February at The Derby High School.
