A RAMSBOTTOM dental practice has been has been praised as safe, effective and caring after a recent CQC inspection.

Ramsbottom Dental Care, in Peel Brow, met all requirements following the latest inspection on November 7, being found to be clean and well maintained with effective infection control.

The report also said the practice was well-led, with effective leadership and its staff knew how to deal with emergencies, manage risk and perform safeguarding, ensuring smooth running in line with guidelines.

Ramsbottom Dental Care is a family owned practice providing a full range of dental services for adults and children.

The practice employs a team including two dentists, four dental nurses, a dental hygienist and a practice manager, whom the latest report said were "qualified for their roles", treating patients with "dignity and respect", and "took care to protect their privacy and personal information."

The report added: "The practice’s appointment system was efficient and met patients’ needs. Patients could get an appointment quickly if in pain.

"Staff considered patients’ different needs. This included providing facilities for disabled patients and families with children.

"Internal and external renovations were ongoing to improve the premises which included

making reasonable adjustments for patients with disabilities.

"The practice took patients views seriously. They valued compliments from patients and responded to concerns and complaints quickly and constructively."

Although some areas for improvement and review were identified during the inspection, including arrangements for dealing with medical and other emergencies, immediate action was taken to address this, and no further action was required in the five areas examined.
