THE Summerseat Players will reveal the calendar for their upcoming golden anniversary season this weekend.
Each year, the amateur theatre group, which formed in 1968, produces five main stage plays and two studio theatre plays and performs them to a live audience.
They will reveal their 2018/19 calendar at a launch night, which will take place at Ramsbottom's Theatre Royal, on Sunday evening.
The event will provide the opportunity for people to find out what plays are on and even volunteer to take part in some way.
A large number of people are needed to produce the plays. In addition to actors and directors, there are also a number of backstage roles up for grabs.
The roles available range from props and stage designers to make-up artists, dressers, and even front of house bar and box office staff.
A spokesperson for the Summerseat Players said: "It’s going to be a great season with plays for actors of all ages and experience. This year we have introduced a new dimension to the season by creating an opportunity for all youngsters to get involved within a new and exciting structure called ‘Next Generation Productions'.
The launch event will take place from 7.30pm at the theatre, in Smithy Street, and everyone is invited to attend.
