A TOTTINGTON pub is calling on football fanatics to put their knowledge to the test in pursuit of a £5,000 cash prize.

The Robin Hood, in Market Street, will host football-themed quiz heats every Thursday as part of a national competition being run by brewers Greene King.

Similar events are being held at other pubs up and down the country, with the winning teams progressing to the regional heats in May.

The regional winners will then compete in the grand final in Nuneaton on Saturday, June 2, which will be hosted by Sky Sports presenter Chris Kamara.

The winners will then receive a £5,000 cash prize.

Paul Batty, general manager, at the Robin Hood, said: “There’s a lot of love for the beautiful game here in Tottington so I’ll be interested to see how well our guests perform in the quiz."

To take part in the competition, locals simply need to visit Robin Hood with their team name and contact details.
