A BOY has been charged with assault after a jogger was attacked in Ramsbottom.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with section 18 assault after a 48-year-old woman was assaulted between 5.45am and 6.15am in Nuttall Park on Friday.
She had been running down Lower Nuttall Road on a track when the offender forced her to the floor and struck her in the head a number of times before he fled.
The teenager has been remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court tomorrow (June 4).
