NUTTALL Park's 80th anniversary celebrations have received a major boost in the form of a £5,660 grant from the National Lottery.
The money will help pay for the anniversary party scheduled for July 12.
It will also pay for a permanent wooden reading chair to replace a previous chair that was destroyed by damp and for a lectern to display information on the history of the park.
Park ranger Amy Leach said: "The grant has given us a huge boost. It will help us make activities at the party free or at least as cheap as possible for families who visit on the day."
Ramsbottom concrete manufacturer Marshall's has donated a rock to the festivities.
The rock will be used to mount a replica plaque for a re-enactment of the park's original opening ceremony.
