BURY couple Russ Shaw and Louise Parkinson travelled by speed boat and Daimler respectively to their wedding ceremony on the sun-kissed island of Mauritius.
The couple moved there last August when the bridegroom's firm transferred him to their Mauritius office. The bride had worked as a teacher at St Bernadette's Primary School in Whitefield.
Family and friends travelled from Bury to the wedding, including the bride's 85-year-old grandmother. Also present were the couple's parents, Linda and Dennis Parkinson and Ann and Tony Shaw. The best man and ushers were Chris Wilde, Steven Wood and Greg Johnson; maid of honour and bridesmaids, Carrie Harper, Amanda Crawford, Jane Birtwistle and Suzanne Dickinson; and pageboys were the couple's one-year-old nephews.
The wedding was at a church at the north of the island near the main resort area, Grand Bay.
