A FORMER pupil of Derby High School, Bury, has married in America.
Mandy Tobias and Phil Kaufman's wedding took place in Atlanta. The bride is the youngest daughter of Barbara and Phil Tobias of Gort Close, Unsworth, while the bridegroom from Baltimore, Maryland, is the youngest child of the late Florence and Sidney Kaufman.
Sadly, Mr Tobias could not travel to the wedding due to illness. He is well-known locally having run his own photography business for more than 30 years. But thanks to the internet, he saw his daughter on her wedding day via a web cam.
Mr Tobias's wife travelled to the USA with the bride's best friend Shelley Greenfield, who was matron of honour, and Mandy's cousin, Madeleine Broster.
The bride keeps in touch with old school friends via email. She moved to the USA 30 years ago and works as a counsellor for the elderly.
