A BRIDE and groom who met at an advertising firm were given a fitting wedding gift – a giant billboard in Whitefield about their big day.

Steve and Zoe Hawker tied the knot earlier this month and are currently on honeymoon in Vietnam.

But before the loving couple jetted off, the company that made their nuptials possible revealed the big surprise.

Advertising firm Primesight designed and displayed a huge billboard in Bury New Road, opposite the Mogul restaurant, featuring pictures of the pair, with the message: 'Congratulations Zoe and Steve on your wedding day'.

Zoe, nee Warner, aged 30, said: "The billboard is incredible.

"It was slightly embarrassing as all my friends have been messaging me saying they've seen it and how funny it is, but it was such an amazing surprise. We love it."

Zoe, from Whitefield, met Steve, from Reading, in 2010 when she joined Primesight as a personal assistant to the chief executive officer.

Steve, who was the marketing manager, dated Zoe for a time, before he hatched a surprise way of popping the question.

"He got my best friend to pretend she was taking me on a spa weekend," said Zoe.

"When I got to Paddington station in London, he was standing there instead and got down on one knee.

"I said 'yes' and then took me to Iceland for four days."

The couple wed at the Last Drop Village venue in Bolton on November 9 and were then stunned to see the billboard, which was masterminded by Zoe's boss, Primesight chief executive officer, Naren Patel.

Mr Patel said: "Zoe is one of the most popular members of the Primesight team and Steve also worked at Primesight for a few years.

"We wanted to give Zoe a little surprise from everyone at the company to celebrate her big day.

"We selected a site that was close to the Warner household and designed a poster that would somewhat embarrass her, but that she would also definitely secretly love.

"Based on the feedback, I think we managed to accomplish this."

The billboard was an ironic role reversal for Zoe, who helped her family pull of a similar feat in February 2013.

To celebrate the 90th birthday of her grandfather, a renowned and popular entertainer, Zoe designed a billboard that read: 'Still looking good! Happy 90th birthday, Sonny Warner MBE. Lots of love from all your family.'
