A CAFÉ could open in Whitefield after councillors gave the green light.
Paul Kersh asked Bury Council for permission to change the use of a property in Moss Lane near the junction with Bury New Road.
It used to be a hair salon and insurance offices and Mr Kersh asked if he could start using the ground floor and first floor as a café and seating area, open daily.
Two people formally objected claiming the café could cause parking problems in Nuttall Avenue, as there is a lot of restricted parking in the area.
However, a council report considered that there are 10 parking spaces, there is on-street parking in Moss Lane, and that Mr Kersh anticipates "that a large number of customers will travel on foot from the local area."
Bury planning committee granted permission at a town-hall meeting on Tuesday evening.
