BRUNO Mars had a sweet surprise when a Whitefield bakery presented him with a celebration cake on his tour.
The pop A-lister was surprised with a cake backstage on the second night of his 24K Magic tour at the Manchester Arena.
Slattery in Bury New Road, was approached to create the masterpiece to celebrate the American singer-songwriter hitting number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with That’s What I Like.

Jo Naven, marketing manager at the patissier and chocolatiers, said: “We’ve worked with the arena for many years now and get calls to create all sorts of cakes for them.
“This time it was the promoters who had asked if they knew of anyone to create a surprise cake for Bruno.
“They contacted us and we were given four days to come up with the design and bake it.
“The backdrop was of the current stage for the tour and they sent across a photo of him which we turned into a sugar figure.
“We’ve since been told he absolutely loved it so we’re really pleased.”
Matt Ward, from Manchester Arena, said: “We got a call from Bruno’s management requesting something special to celebrate him being top of Billboard’s Top 100 that week.
“We’ve worked with Slattery Cakes on numerous projects over the years and knew they’d be able to deliver something that extra bit special and, as you can see from his video, Bruno and his entourage loved it.”
