ALTHOUGH Tottington Library closed before Christmas, it will re open in the new year, operated by volunteers.

Firstly we wish to thank the staff at Tottington Library for their assistance over a very difficult period during the past few months.

We wish to express our grateful thanks to all those many residents both in Tottington and surrounding areas who have supported the campaign this year.

All the many businesses, pubs and restaurants who have our collection boxes, those of you who have supported our fundraising events and more than 40 local people who have now signed up to volunteer to make Tottington Centre and Community Library a big success.

We shall re open in the new year and wish it to be known that we are promoting room hire to community and commercial groups.

We aim to organise many activities in the library for all ages and emphasis will be on the community.

Grandads Gathering will be one new group we wish to introduce, reducing isolation in the elderly is to be one of our priorities.

We wish to place on record our pride in working alongside Friends of Tottington Library Committee who have worked tirelessly to save the library.

Its a new beginning for Tottington and we are looking forward to the challenges and the undoubted positive outcomes ahead.
